Rules & Guidelines

About the Mun - My name is Brian (formerly known as Esau), and I'm an ancient old man (30+), that has been RPing since Ye Olden Times™. My rules/guidelines are pretty simple and understandable, I believe, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me.

1) Usual RP rules -- don't god-mode/auto IC -- you'll play your muse, and I'll play mine.

You can auto a small action (my muse turning to look at a noise, accepting a cup of tea, or following your muse when asked to), but otherwise, please run it by me if you might need to to move along a scene.

This is especially important regarding Évariste's children. Please do not god-mode them, or RP on their behalf. They're 'NPCs', but they are my characters.

2) I shouldn't need to say this, but experience has shown me that I must:

Bigotry in its many forms - sexism, racism, ableism, classism, homo/bi/ace/trans phobias -- is not accepted here. I will simply hardblock.

3) I only accept both muns and muses over the age of 18. Many young people are great writers, but as the parent of a teenager myself, I am not the peer of a minor. It makes me highly uncomfortable, even in platonic threads.

4) I have no triggers, but please let me know if you need something tagged. I tag common triggers with 'example cw'.

  There are some things that I do not tag as triggers. These are things that you can see everyday, out in public. These include: shirtless men, babies/children, healthy and normal pregnancy (L&D still tagged), and social alcohol consumption.

5) Please refrain from reblogging from me unless the source is deactivated. Things happen sometimes, but notifications are already messed up on Tumblr, and it does make things more difficult at times. If you must, please send a meme if you are reblogging them from me. There is never an excuse to reblog a headcanon from me, unless your muse is directly mentioned.

6) I adore shipping, and love pre-establishing relationships, but shipping with Évariste either requires plotting OOCly, or a longer build-up IC. No auto-shipping here (and none from me either -- Évariste has no default romance).

A Brief History

Grand Duke Évariste Valmont should not have been at the Conclave. A distant relation of both Empress Celene, and Grand Duke Gaspard, he mistakenly agreed to attend (if only to quiet his cousins), to showcase the interest and concern of the Imperial crown, when it came to this 'Mage-Templar War'. While Évariste agreed that the conflict needed to end... he wasn't entirely sure he was the one to make that happen. Skilled negotiator and mediator though he was... Évariste was no mage, or templar. He doubted they would listen, or that anything at all would come from the meeting, no matter how good the intentions of Her Grace.

Fate, of course, seemed to have different plans. Whether by Andraste's Grace, or pure, dumb luck, Évariste survived the destruction of the Conclave, and managed to stumble out of the Fade still breathing. As monumental as the event that happened was however, it was just the beginning of the Grand Duke's troubles.

Inquisitor - Main

Attending the Divine Conclave as a personal favor for the Empress, Évariste survives the explosion, crawling out of the Fade with the anchor mark upon his hand.

Ally of the Inquisition - Secondary

Évariste not only accepts the Inquisition's request for an alliance, but truly follows through, sending coin, troops, and even himself, to act on the Inquisition's behalf in approaching other members of Orlais' elite.

Emperor AU - Tertiary

Évariste stands as a technical contender for the Orlesian throne. Though his claim is not as strong as Celene's, Gaspard's, or even Florianne's, he might be seen as a better alternative for the future. This can occur during Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts or later during or after Trespasser
